Name: Ling Shun Zhi
Age: 28 (As of 200 AD)
Gender: Male
Style: Custom
Residence: Jiang Dong
Personality:
Being cold, calculating and persistent, Shun Zhi isn’t what you would call an open book. No one knows what he’s thinking, but let me tell you something. His plans and strategies would make Edward Cullen go nuts. Why? They are complex, yet clever and, once every now and then, successful. The fire user was also given a special gift: his sarcastic, wry sense of humor.
Earning Ling Shun Zhi’s trust is quite a challenge. Mistrust is a visible scar from past mistakes, and you’ll probably have to do something for him in order to get him to open up. When he doesn’t trust someone, he simply avoids relying on them if possible. As a result, he is extremely protective of his close friends, being able to lose his nerves when they are harmed. Usually, however, he will not use violence unless needed, preferring to end with diplomatic and peaceful solutions.
When he does get into fights, Shun follows a strictly made order: first, he adopts a defensive position, studying his opponent’s techniques; then, he makes a strategy to use against him/her. And last but not least, he strikes, using his recently gained knowledge.
In his spare time, the ex-mercenary enjoys listening to some music, classic being his favorite genre. He also plays the piano with skill, and guitars aren’t left behind either. Shun’s downfall will probably emerge from his overconfident side, which lurks around when he’s got an opponent cornered. This makes him lower his guard and loosen his strategies a bit. However, this flaw won’t stop him from raging war against all the ones threatening his kingdom and he’s determined to wipe them all out.
Destiny calls, and Ling Shun Zhi will be one of the first to answer its pleas.
Appearance:
Standing around 6' 1" and weighing about 170 pounds, Shun Zhi is pretty tall. However, he is not what you would call “average adult”. The tough training, his past mercenary life, and the current war have kept his weight healthy and his body strong. While he does have some muscle, he is not that bulky, taking a lean build instead. This has proved rather useful for him, making his running faster and his reflexes sharper.
Mikhail’s skin tone is a bit tanned, but not that much. His eyes are slightly bigger than the average, grayish blue being its color. Regarding his hair, it is quite dark, and it is a wonder how he could survive the high temperatures which such black coat.
Armor:
Crimson dominating most of the armor, Ling Shun Zhi will probably be noticed at the battlefield due to the lack of green on it. It is a rather light armor, most of it being made out of leather. However, there is some metal protecting his chest, back, arms and legs, silver being it’s color.
Shun rarely uses his helmet, which is red with trims of silver, as it adds weight and makes him slower. A carnage cape also covers his back, going all the way down his knees. He removes when fighting, though, as it could prove to be a disadvantage.
Weapon(s):
Yin & Yang
+ Deliver fast and deadly blows, and are able to leave flanks protected.
- Sometimes tricky to handle, as they are two weapons being held at the same time.
Standard Longbow
+ Light, long range and speed.
- Pretty much useless when enemy is near.
History:
Born in the year 172 A.D. to a wealthy family in the Wu district, Ling Shun Zhi was given many opportunities unavailable to others when in terms of intellect and studies. He was a prodigy in both, tactics and melee combat, resulting in his father paying the finest instructors to develop his full potential. Various regional leaders soon noticed his talents and offered him a place in their army as he grew up, but he declined all of these offers. He was a man of peace, not looking for war unless necessary.
Despite his young age, Shun was forced to mature when his father died, leaving him as the only capable candidate to replace him as head of the family. With no better choices and after being pressured by his mother, Ling Shun Zhi reluctantly became a mercenary to pay the bills. After all, the small fortune their father had left them wouldn’t last forever.
Now, with a new threat on their horizons, even the civilians must choose the side in the upcoming war. Deciding to recover some of his lost honor, Shun headed to meet Sun Ce’s forces camping nearby, but on his way there had heard rumors about another promising leader: Lord Liu Bei. The people seemed to look up to him for his kindness. Determined to find out how good Liu Bei really was, Ling Shun Zhi left Jiang Dong…
