Guan Yu nodded and he replied, "Zhang is more than capable of handling himself, he was a fugitive to Dong Zhuo and he will have been to begin with to Li Jue, for the man was loyal to the traitor Dong."
Watching Cheng Liu taking to his steed, Guan bowed and replied, "Thank you for your support, with this alliance you too will find friends here in Yong'an." Calling for his own horse which was led before him Guan too mounted. Then escorting Cheng to the eastern gate of the city bid farewell, "We shall meet again Master Cheng, give my regards to Lord Jingsheng. I must speed back to my Lord, there is much to be done." With that he saluted from his saddle and headed back to the government building.

Liu Bei had awaited for Guan Yu to return, but as he walked towards Zhang Fei, Zhang Qin, and Yang Zhi, he began to grow agitated. He had seen the looks on their faces and began to assume something had gone wrong at the capital. So he was forthcoming with his words and said,
Zhang Qin, what happened at the capital? It seems something went wrong there. If you did something, I wish to know now rather than get surprised by an imperial envoy from Li Jue. -------------------------------------------- Yang Zhi was about to speak up concerning the spy he had found around the palace, but he decided to wait until everything was done concerning the capital. This was slightly more important than a suspicious person who was locked up and guarded.
(Having a brain fart, can't really think of what else to add Sam.)

Liu Bei had received a letter from Cao Cao, that the time had come to march against Li Jue. This is exactly what was needed to free the Emperor from the tyrant who had controlled him. Liu Bei was willing an able, and the goings on in the capital did not need to be addressed at this time. Speaking to all his officers in attendance he said, "Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhang Qin, Yang Zhi, we must make for Luo Yang. I have been sent a proclamation from Cao Mengde in order to march against Li Jue, he has barred the emperor. I wish for you to join me. Prepare the troops when I send word."He then called for a servant to bring forth his armour and weapon, and to prepare his horse and a personal guard of 40 Shu Cavalry to get ready to sally forth. At that time, Lin Chong had entered into the palace after patrolling the city. Seeing such a commotion he asked, "Lord Xuande, what are you preparing for?"Liu Bei then mentioned what he had said to the others, about Li Jue blocking the Emperor. He then finished by saying, "Lin Chong, I wish for you to stay here at Yong An. Watch over the city, and receive those who come to offer help. If they wish to aid me, send them to Luo Yang."A servant helped Liu Bei into his armour, and girded his sword. Marching out he made his way to the stables, and mounted his horse that had been prepared. The guard was at it's marshaling point, so Liu Bei made his way there. He gave a slight nod to the men amongst him, and they set off with a gallop towards the city of Luo Yang. (Any who wish to follow Liu Bei, join him Here)

Guan Yu had reentered the hall and standing by Zhang Qin, Zhang Fei and Yang Zhi when Liu Bei reentered the room. To answer his lord's question he nudged Zhang Qin, who fell to his knees and recounted the events of his mission to the capital. "On your order I went to the capital to get news my lord. Arriving I found rioting in the streets, on inspection I found that they were revolting against Li Jue and Guo Si. I also met a Warden by the name of Wei Feng who served the Emperor personally he said Li Jue meant for his life and was fleeing the city." Zhang paused for a moment ad continued, "To get the information however and ensure the safety of Warden Wei, I had to...well..." Unsure of how his lord would react Zhang hesitated for a moment but blurted it out frankly, "Well I may have slaughtered some of Li and Guo's troops and provoked Li Jue himself..." Zhang bowed his head and said nothing, while Guan Yu merely closed his eyes and said nothing. * * * Responding to his Lord's command and Cao Cao's decree. Guan Yu bowed to Liu Bei and accepted the order to save the Emperor gladly. Guan Yu marshalled the necessary troops and waited for the good to go from Xuande, in which he would bring the force to Luoyang to root out the rebels.

Xīn Shìjiè Fēnliè organized his thoughts. The only thing bothering him is how long he's been captive without any form of contact. Being dragged out from the palace courtyard into the palace "dungeon" isn't exactly five star treatment. Starting to get bored Xīn began humming a child's nursery rhyme.
(It seems as though I'm going to have to wait a while before I get to mean the elusive Liu Bei)

Yang Zhi thought of the suspicious individual, and was planning to mention it to Liu Bei but by this time it was too late. So he went to Lin Chong, who was nominally in charge of the city, and said
"I found a suspicious individual around the palace some time ago. I locked him in the dungeon, and I was planning on telling lord Xuande but now that he has left it appears it's too late. You're much better with getting information out of people than I am. You should go check on him."
Lin Chong laughed and shook his head. For all he knew, Yang Zhi was being overly suspicious. But he went towards the small room and bade the guards unbar the door. He stepped in, and crossing his arms across his chest he said,
Lord Xuande is unable to meet with you due to pressing matters. But I am here to find out your purpose. My name is Lin Chong, we have reason to believe you are spying. But on whose orders do you act?

He stepped in, and crossing his arms across his chest he said, Lord Xuande is unable to meet with you due to pressing matters. But I am here to find out your purpose. My name is Lin Chong, we have reason to believe you are spying. But on whose orders do you act? Xīn Shìjiè Fēnliè noticed the man enter the room and listened to his rather plain spoken statement. Xīn was taken a little bit hard by the accusation of spying on his hopefully potential lord, well... his underling at least. But after thinking for a few fleeting moments he finally spoke. Orders? I am but a simple man from a place near by here. I follow no orders other than those I myself provide. I do not like the accusation of spying. That's not what I was doing. I was impatiently waiting for some form of contact from the people in the Palace.Xīn felt like he could get more out of this if he just passed over the idea of him being a spy and focused on his reason for being in Yong An in the first place. My name is Xīn Shìjiè Fēnliè from a place not so far away from here. Some time ago I wrote a letter to Lord Liu Bei to offer my services. I eagerly awaited some form of reply and as the weeks went on I became impatient. If I was rejected I'd at least like to know that I am, not simply left to the comfort of silence and utter ignorance.
Now if you have that letter then you should already know that I have told you the truth. Unfortunately it is entirely possible that the letter never made it to Lord Liu Bei, nor anyone in his faction. In the end I entered the city of Yong An and simply waited for another week, having set out from my home I thought it would be best to be closer to the city in which Liu Bei resided.
I then was suddenly forced to consider that the letter never reached here. So I rewrote the letter and was about to attempt to gain access to Lord Liu Bei, however I wanted to make a good first impression and did not want to impede upon him in a meeting or something of that nature. I had reason to believe this because someone from Jing arrived and was rushed into the Palace. I did however ask a local guard just to make sure, just as I had thought there was a meeting taking place.
At some point I re-read the letter I wrote and suddenly felt a sick feeling in my stomach. It was very unsatisfying, no longer the carefully worded, well thought out, letter that I had constructed. So I did what any man would do with something he is embarrassed about and would never want seen by the world. I tore it to shreds and put those shreds in my cloths. Xīn at this point showed the man the carefully reconstructed letter, still a mess of tear marks and small pieces it was nearly impossible to read with any real degree of coherency. There was one thing for certain, the letter itself was addressed to Liu Bei and mentioned Xīn Shìjiè Fēnliè numerous times as well as an offer of service which could be easily inferred. This was not a complete picture, but one that would satisfy any level minded individual. Just as I had done this I was attacked and forced here against my will. Now I understand this is just some misunderstanding and with that in mind I would like this to be over and done with very soon. I'll answer any and all questions you have for me and, if I am so privileged, I would like to meet with Lord Liu Bei and offer my services to him.At this point there was nothing left for Xīn to say, he said everything he could and hoped there would be nothing more of this "spy fiasco", but it seems like it will require more intense questions for it to be completely disregarded as his reason for being here. Throughout the entire explanation he had tried to remain as polite as possible, and hopefully this will translate well to his captor.

Lin Chong had listened intently to the boy's speech. It seemed as though there was no deceit in him, for his eyes and mannerisms could easily be read by the more experienced veteran. He shifted himself slightly.
He thought to himself, this is only a boy, Yang Zhi was a bit too hasty. And then he produced a torn up letter. Chong looked at it quickly, and while it wasn't worded very well to him he dismissed that to youth. Once he finished speaking, Lin Chong spoke up and said,
'Well, I know one thing is for certain. Lord Xuande did not receive your original letter. You should have simply presented yourself to the officials though. My colleague who placed you in here, Yang Zhi can be a bit hasty sometimes. I apologize for your treatment."
He then stepped forward and picked up the letter, and placing it in his sleeve, he then said,
"I hope you don't mind me taking this. I will make sure Lord Xuande will see it. I believe you when you say you're not a spy though... For one, your eyes completely dismiss it. But unfortunately you cannot meet Liu Bei."
He stopped for a moment, and turned to leave. He had a slight smile on his face, just to cause a bit of friendly torment. Before Xīn Shìjiè Fēnliè could respond, he turned again and spoke,
"I suppose you'd like to know why though. He's in Luo Yang to meet with the regional lords. However, I have been given permission to receive those who wish to offer their service. Follow me."
He led the youth to the council chamber, passing by Yang Zhi and rolled his eyes and gave a chuckle. Once they were in the chamber, Lin Chong spoke once more and said,
Xīn Shìjiè Fēnliè, since you have expressed your wish to serve Liu Bei, I formally accept you as an officer on his behalf. You will be given access to our war council, as well as receive a stipend. I expect great results from you.
(Decided to change the text colour of Lin Chong to make it easier to see).

Shu Se found himself with time enough to see if he could have an audience with the man named Liu Bei. He played his flute while walking up to the entrance as if it was a bird singing happy of the dawn of the new day. His main officer had urged him to seek out one of the lords who reigned the larger cities in the area, and most of his men had agreed they should serve Liu Bei. Shu Se's gang who had been acting to maintain the order in the area for the local magistrates was no actually grown into a small army. Still they seemed like a family, as every soldier in his army at least new about 20 others. Shu Se too recognized more and more faces of them and felt they believed in him.
Therefore he believed them in their suggestion to visit Liu Bei, and now he stood here, left to convince himself. His appearance looked nothing more then a low ranked captain of the imperial army, but his dryad bow was more pleasing to the eye, which was underneath the deepgreen cloak behind his back.
Soon as he saw someone who seeed to work in the building he approached the person. "My ap..apologies for m.. my speaking, I..I was hoping if your l..lord Liu Bei is he..here? I..I'd like to have a..an audience with him."

The guard gave a nod to the youth who had asked for Liu Bei. He wasn't entirely concerned with his speaking, as he simply dismissed it to nervousness. He pointed to the palace and said,
"Lord Liu Bei is not here in Yong An at the moment, though there is a steward looking after all those who come to the palace. He speaks on behalf of Lord Xuande, and so it would be as if you're speaking with Lord Liu Bei anyways. Feel free to go into the palace, though you must leave your weapons here."
The one on guard motioned for a courtier to come forward, to lead the youth towards the palace after he left his weapons in the care of those on guard.

"Of c..c..course," Shu Se responded sadly. he didn't like to give away the bow, it gave him more the feeling he had things in control, even though he had no arrows equipped.
He was actually feeling a bit relieved he wouldnt meet Liu Bei in person, he could delay making his first appearance to him now and Xuande will probably be informed the next time he'd meet Shu Se.
He grabbed the small flute again and wanted to play, but pressed the feeling and kept holding it only, while following the other person.

The official lead the youth into the audience chamber where Lin Chong was waiting for the new person who came to the city of Yong An, having been informed rather quickly to expect someone. As they came in, he went to greet them, and he offered a smile to the lad. He then spoke and said,
"Welcome to Yong An, I am Lin Chong. Lord Xuande is unfortunately not here at the moment, but he has placed Yong An in my care."
He motioned for Shu Se to come with him to a small table to the side of the audience chamber, and the officials brought some tea. Pouring two glasses, one for himself and offering the other to Shu Se he then spoke in a polite tone,
"Pardon my poor manners, I forgot to ask you your name when you first came in."

"M..My name is G..Guan Sui, s..styled Shu Se, s...s..sir. N..no need to s..say sorry, y..you are very-well m..mannered." He thanked for the tea with a nod. Helding the cup carefully in his hands to warm, he paused before speaking. "I h..hope I don't d..disturb you m..m..master Lin."

Lin Chong watched the youth for a moment, listening to him speak. He spoke with a stutter, but Lin Chong did not care about that. The boy was polite, and brave enough to come here even knowing the way he spoke. Lin Chong waited for him to finish, and then said,
"Ah, well Guan Sui, it is good to meet you, and you are not disturbing me. I have to commend you actually, you are quite brave for your age; leading so many men. You must be talented if you have gathered so many people to follow you."
He took a sip of the tea, and stroked his chin for a moment and then said,
"You must have come to Yong An for a reason did you not? The guard gave word that you wished to meet with Lord Xuande. I hope you're not discouraged that he is not here at the moment."

Yen Shin, unarmed and wearing the noble robes that were characteristic to him, led his horse towards the Yamen of Yong An. At last... After a few long months of search, questioning the poor, reading through records, he was in front of the gates to the palace in which resided the man who may just be the one he was looking for. The one who would lead him towards the conflict of the lands, and whom he would aid in vanquishing it.
He stopped his horse a few feet from the gate guards, coming down from it and leading the horse on foot. To his experience, it was not very reassuring to have such a tall man riding towards a seat of power, even if he was not dressed for battle. "I come to offer my services to Lord Liu Bei Xuande. My name is Yen Shin of He Nei.
