Guan Yu halted his unit with a raised hand, then dismounted, as he did he ordered his men to stay put. He passed his dragon blade onto a horseman, who held it attentively, should it be needed by the General.
Guan moved forward half crouched toward Xuande, who he kept pace with minding his step. Twigs could be quite unforgiving in stealthy moments. Heading further into the dense trees, carefully brushing the foilage aside as the three progressed.
After a few moments of thinking they would be moving forward for sometime, the sight of flames could be seen through the thinning cluster of bamboo stalks among the leaves.
As they came within the distance necessary to spy, Guan spotted numerous fires dotted around a poorly constructed camp, with no banners whatsoever, but it was well populated. Moving closer to Xuande, Guan said almost whispering, "...General Jiao...it appears to be bandits, it's no use alerting them here. Either we find a way around for the army, or we'll have to lead them to us for our cavalry to be effective." Guan fondled his beard in thought and then he continued, "Yan here, positioned his cavlary on our flanks to the entrance, we could lure them back to our position for a three sided attack?"
