The guards looked at Teng Po Lie curiously. They had to decide if he was worth there lords time to see. Of course anyone of the people was allowed to speak with their lord. Liu Biao held public audiences from time to time to hear the words of the people. However he was not conducting one of those at the moment. Of course Teng Po Lie did not look like a citizen of Xiang Yang and there was an air of confidence about him as well. They guessed there lord would indeed want to meet with him. He had left orders that any men of special talent were to be conducted to him on the instant.
"Follow me sir, i will take to my lords audience chamber." one of the guards said opening the doors and guiding him down the halls. Another man ran ahead to tell Liu Biao about his latest visitor.
Centeral audience chamber
""My lord a man by the name of Teng Po Lie requests and audience with you." The court herald announced his voice cutting threw the chatter in the hall. Everyone turned to the great doors as the guard drew them open after a nod from Liu Biao. The guards quickly showed Teng Po Lie until the hall. He could only be acutely a where that everyone was watching him.
"Welcome to Xiang Yang Teng Po Lie, what business brings you here today?" Liu Biao asked his voice cutting abruptly across the silence and ending it as his courtiers began to speak among themselves again.

Teng Po followed the guard in and saw the palace interior, it was much more then he had expected. When he made it to the court he saw Liu Biao as well as everyone else that made up his court looking at him.
"Prefect Liu Biao of Xiang Yang, My name is Teng Po Lie. I have defended the northern passes in the territory of Wei Wu for most of my life, I have live through things that should have taken 100 men lives. I was asked to leave so that my abilities could be put to better uses in a different venue.
Right now I control 2000 men that have followed me faithfully, each one ready to put their life down if I give the word. My men and I are looking for that cause to place our lives on the line for. I believe that your cause is worth it. If you would, allow me to be your shield for the people and your beating stick to the dogs of war, I will do everything in my power to protect those that follow you. I only ask for that chance.
Teng Po said these things as he bowed in front of what he hoped would be his lord.

Liu Biao nodded looking Teng Po Lie in the eyes he could he see the man was true of spirit and intention. Another loyal warrior of the Han come to lend him his assistance with throwing down the traitors. With so many traitors and rebels he was glad to have the assistance of anyone particularly a great warrior such as Teng Po Lie. Such men were always greeted warmly in his court as long as they harbored no treachery against the court or the people. On Teng's words he could tell he was a good man.
"I am indeed looking for valiant hero's to uphold the honer of the Han dynasty and care for the needs of the people. You seem to be such a man Teng Po Lie. I would be happy to happy to accept you and your men into my service." Liu Biao said smiling warmly. Although his words were mealy a formality, none could think he would turn away such an individual when his need for hero's was so great. Not for his own power but his cause to restore the Han.

A great deal of joy poured into Teng Po as he had finally found his master, however only a smile appeared on his face.
"My Lord, I thank you for this chance I shall not waste it."
He stood up and once again bowed before Liu Biao.
"I await a time for me to show you what I am capable of accomplishing in your service."
He begin to walk out the door and gave one last look at his lord and smiled. He returned to the front gate and took his leave to tell his troops of what there new home.

"I suspect you that chance will come sooner than you might guess, i will not sit by and watch the chaos of this land grow." Liu Biao said cryptically before letting Teng Po Lie leave to go tell his men. His first impression of the man were good he seemed to believe in that same cause. What he could do would be demonstrated very soon indeed.
He flicked his hand his guards closing the doors again at his signal. Now perhaps he could finally get down to the business of the day. He had much to do and little time to do it in. The battle for Chai Sang had already begun and it would be just the first of many to come.

The Han had been reinforced as of lately. They lost their emperor, to a bunch of unfortunate circumstances. Truly, he had been assassinated in his flight from Luo Yang, though no one openly declared this; the emperor could not be known to be that insecure.
Instead, imperial officials had declared that he had died due to a high fever, peacefully in his sleep, setting up the new emperor almost immediately. Emperor Feng was a hard-ass, much more involved with the rest of China compared to Xian. He wanted to make sure that his country ran smoothly.
This was normally not a good thing. However, it also meant that he was more involved. He was all about the Han lands, and had made campaigns to increase his influence throughout China. This caused the locking of many of the regional lords into positions where they could not easily expand, and this caused some turmoil amongst the courts.
And where there was turmoil, there was Yuan Shao.
Yuan Shao had looked at the new lay of the land on a map he had made by an informer in the Han Court. Within the ink atop this piece of parchment showed the lands of two Imperial followers of the Liu family, Liu Bei and Liu Biao. Biao was the more susceptible of the two, Bei being one of complete and total honor and support of the Han.
Biao, however, was not a man so easily blinded.
So, when the Assassin of the Emperor Xian, though not openly known as such, walked into the city of Xiang Yang, he knew his mission; convince this imperial supporter to support the new empire. It was his job as a Bene Gesserit to do so, and he would not fail in his duty.
He was admitted into the city, only the spear on his back, as an envoy from a foreign lord. He was gladly escorted to the palace, all by the books of any imperial code of law.
He walked into the palace, and stood at the entrance, addressing the guards that stood vigilant, soldiers who knew that they were responsible for their lord's safety. He admired their duty, as he wish he could be back to his home, defending his lord.
"I come in name of EmperorJianyuan of the Yuan Empire to the north. I wish to have words with your lord, Liu Biao."

(sorry for short post but im ill atm)
The guards at the front gate analyzed the Yuan envoy careful. They all knew well that his lord was declared a traitor to the Han. He could well be here to assassinate there lord.
"Alright you leave your weapons here and we will escort you to see our lord." The guards said clashing there weapons in front of him. If he did as they asked they would take him straight to Liu Biao audience chamber and announce him.
