Dawn broke over the Arena, bathing Sa Ten in a bright, golden light. The light reflected from Gutreaver, casting a large, blade-shaped refraction on the dusty earth. Nobody was here to see this man, bloodlust given form.
He breathed in the stuffy, warm air through his bone mask. He hated waiting. Especially for people who would fight him. His appearance is so frightening it could take hours before someone decided to fight him. Yet he stood there, perfectly still, not showing his annoyance or any other emotion for that matter.
As he waited in the dusty sand for an opponent...

The barbarian would not be left alone for long, as the appearance of a dark horse soon made its mark on the unhinged gravel. Wei Xiadi had travelled for days to reach this spot of isolated grit, and when he found his target he was not in the least bit disappointed. The man truly was a barbarian, a cold killing machine with a boned mask.
It was almost like looking in the mirror, his own body shielded by the black markings of his armour, and his face phased by the full-helm that he wore to mask the marks of his many wars. Still, today was not a day to contemplate the mans appearances, or trubles. It was a day designed to fight, to meet metal on metal in an explosion of skill.
He was excited.
“BARBARIAN!” He roared the name, grinning manically to himself, “I challenge you. But…you look bored of the waiting – and so I offer you the opportunity to try and strike me down. Come!”
He did not announce himself. The black knight was renown through the Yizhou provinces, his lightly built armour would look heavy and uncomfortable, another ploy he often used to trick his many enemies with.
He drew his dual swords casually, and waited for the barbarian to bite the hand of the dragon.
(sorry it’s lame. I’m being rushed!)

(Its fine, better than mine ^-^)
As he heard the black knight roar at him, his heart leaped. Finally a promising challenge awaited him. But as he heard the request of the black knight, his heart sank again. Those were the words of an overconfident and spoiled 'warrior' probably trained by all of those sissies at Wei or Shu.
"GRAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!" he roared back, "DON'T YOU DARE CHALLENGE THE BARBARIAN TO STRIKE FIRST! YOU PATHETIC DOG!"
Sa Ten raised his sword, Gutreaver, in front of him, moving the reflected light, giving the blade an eerie glow. The black steel seemed to shimmer with a savage delight, ready to cleave in half the body of this man who dared insult his honour.
The Barbarian charged forward, holding his sword parallel to the ground behind him. He roared as loud as his lungs would allow him as the distance shortened between him and his prey.
As he reached the black knight he noticed that he was still mounted. Taking advantage of this and using one of the only strategic plans he could ever come up with on his own, he lowered his body, still charging, in an attempt to gore the horse's throat with the horns on his mask. With the speed of his flight and his strength he should be able to kill the horse in one blow.
Let us see if his attack succeeded...

(Sorry for the delay mate. I got caught up in administrative work and I totally forgot all about this. *hangs head in shame* since you've waited so long I won't mess around and I'll fight you properly. By the way, my post will suck I'm really tired lol)Wei Xiadi would have chuckled at the man's deranged reprisal, but instead he merely took it as an opportunity to plan his move. His enemy was an experienced fighter, but the man relied on savage attacks and aggression, something he would not find when facing a mounted opponent. Wei prepared his mount as the man beckoned his calling and started charging forward. In response, Wei too spurred on his horse - forcing it to move from a straight trot into a canter. He had with him his two favourite swords, and knew the advantage presented with him being on a horse. His enemy charged directly towards him, his sword parallel to the ground behind him, making his fleeting attack very aggressive in momentum. It was ridiculous to attack without the protection of a sword to defend you, and Wei Xiadi could only raise a brow at the man's rampant charge. He tucked his heels into the side of his mount and spurred slightly to the left (barbarians right), then, as the barbarian gave his almighty roar of defiance Wei struck, swinging his arm back and waving it towards his victims torso. He did not slash his sword in a clean horizontal line, it was diagonal, and rising from his own top right to bottom left. He swung with all of his strength - using the horse's rapid movements to help bring his power to its peak. His enemy, with his sword parallel to the ground behind him and charging blindly ahead - would find himself in a difficult position. Yes - a difficult position indeed. SummaryHmm. So you charge right at me, with your sword behind you (for forward momentum I suspect), then you roar and you lower your head to head-butt the horse. I totally voided that action, because I'm attacking you in the time/space from you running and you performing your charge. It is always important to specify precisely how you do what you do, because within the seconds it takes for you to run and reach me, I can do anything I want. Never run with a sword pointed behind you, even if you didn't mean it that way, that's what you said. And I have to base my move on what you said, so...yeah

(I don't know whether to just lay down and accept defeat or just let him keep fighting... So i'll go with the later option.)
As Sa ducked his head down to charge the horse, he heard the faint swishing of blades coming down past his ears, he realized what was happining and flung his entire body backwards, shoulders first. The blades caught him slightly in a diagonal motion on his lower abdomen. As he saw the sight of his own blood again, something he had not seen in a long time, he smiled savagely as landed and quickly rolled to the left to avoid the charging horse. This man was truly a great swordsman.
A small crack appeared in his bone mask, from the chin area to the bottom set of teeth. He noticed he also had a small cut on his chin. He would have to repair his mask after this. He stood, clutching his abdomen with his left hand and holding his sword with his right. He was bleeding quite a bit, not enough to make him unconsious for another 2-3hours though, which should be enough time to finish the fight.
He held his sword out in front of him, facing the rider and taking up a defensive stance. He hadn't fought defensively in years but lets hope that he still had the moves. From what experience he had from fighting a horsed opponent, he would have to take the horse out first, and then defeat the rider.
A desperate scheme, but will it work...
(If you think he wouldn't have survived, just say so and i'll change it. You win some, you lose some ^-^... This is Out of Character isn't it? >.>)

(you've just killed yourself. You're assuming you can throw yourself backwards without putting into consideration the fact that I'm on a moving horse riding past you which means, no matter how fast you try and be...my sword will still slice through you....unles sof course you think you're faster than a horse that being said. I'll go along with the duel. I don't want to kill you in my first attack, so I'll let this continue a little longer, just know that you 'should' actually be dead. )Wei Xiadi leaned into the attack as it happened and watched with mild satisfaction as his blade hit and slid across his opponent. His enemy was not dead yet, but he was wounded, and Wei would smile at his quick achievement as he continued to ride forward. It was funny, it had seemed his enemy was not as powerful as he had made out, which was good – even if a little disappointing. “You are over-rated Barbarian.” He forced his horse to halt as he drew further away from his wounded victim and dismounted. Sweat gleaming his raised brow, “But I will not hold it against you. All men pretend to be more than they are, and in the end – they all meet my blade. You could not defeat me with full strength, what makes you so blind to assume you can defeat me now that you are wounded.” He stood still for a few seconds, the sun glistening gently off of his black leather armour. He was hard to see, to comprehend – to master, but that was his style. Every opponent had mistaken his cold and calm perception as ‘pompous’ and every single one of them had learned that he was as cold as he was deadly. “Defend yourself and you may yet learn a thing or two.” He charged forward as he spoke, his steps in perfect unison as his right hand rose to offer another diagonal sweep. He knew his enemy would defend, and his left hand clenched and readied his sword to counter. He did not need to use skill – he could afford the luxury of time to wear his enemy down to the bone, to force him to exert himself to a point where his own blade would slide through an empty defence and end the barbarian’s life. He would toy with his prey…and then he would end it, as he always did. (yes this is all OOC if it is in brackets. Good luck)
