No time to waste. The war was begun, and he couldn't miss it now. Break time was over. He was back. He was here to once again stick by his master's side with the best of loyalty.
The golden tiger heads on the sides of his shoulder plates reflected the bright sunlight as Cao Hong rapidly rode toward the distant city, the former capital of the Han. Luo Yang itself towered above all others still, though maybe not the current Chang An, as long as the Son of Heaven resided in the latter. But now Luo Yang was under Cao Cao's command. And Cao Zilian was here to offer his service once again to his most superior cousin and master, who would be his leader for his lifelong career as a valiant warrior on the battlefield.
"Hastily, my trusty steed. We must reach the city as fast we can."
The city grew larger and larger in Zilian's view as they came closer and closer to the place. And soon enough, the gates towered right in front of them, the large doors to the city shut tight in good security. Not willing to let anybody in at any time, it was a good act of keeping the place safe from any suspicious or trouble-making intruders. Abruptly coming to a stop before the gates, Cao Hong backed up a little bit before he wheeled around to look up at the top of the walls. He waved to the guards to get their attention before speaking:
"Cao Hong comes here! Open up the gates!"
The gate captain made haste to have his men fling the doors wide open as the well-known general quickly dashed into the city, not even considering to dismount as he was still in his rush. The straight road leading to the palace was without a single pebble to stumble upon, as Zilian quickly approached the main building of the city. As always, he began his dismounting while the horse still dashed, standing to one side of the horse before leaping down as the animal began to slow down. Hong came to a stop before the stallion did, letting go of the reins in trust.
"Cousin Ren, how nice to see you again."
"Indeed, Cousin Hong. Have you returned to join Lord Cao once more?"
"Of course. How can I miss out on this campaign?"
Cao Ren placed a hand on Zilian's shoulder as they walked into the palace together, the former only momentarily signaling his soldiers to take Zilian's horse and feed it well in the palace stables. The newcomer was most welcome, and he was of the lord's close family.
"Maybe Lord Cao will be able to see you soon. He has been busy lately."
"I find that a good thing. There must be a lot of important matters to deal with."
"Indeed. We've successfully restored the city you stand in right now."
"Impressive. I expect more to come from the lord."
"He is fully capable."
