Guo Tu stood ready, sword in hand. It felt uncomfortable in his palm, like a heavy weight. He was much more used to the light feel of a pen, or the reassuring weight of coins. Despite the discomfort, he steeled himself for the encounter he now faced. He stared hard at his opponent and narrowed his eyes. Today he was no mere man. Today he was greater than that. Today he was Guo Tu, and today was the day that would remembered as an infamous slaughter.
"I hope you're ready, fool. Here I come!" Guo Tu raised his sword over his head in both hands and rushed at his foe, ready to cleave him in half.

Xiang Shimazu stood at the ready, his massive 6'4'' figure holding his crescent-bladed spear in both hands. He had both feet firmly planted in the ground. His spear was a total of 8 feet long, giving him maximum reach against this opponent. There was no wind, and Xiang's long flowing white hair sat lazily upon his shoulders.
The man spoke and then charged Xiang. Xiang would use the man's momentum against him, and this match would be over before they could blink. Xiang, too, charged at his opponent, his spear held firmly in both hands. His opponent gripped his sword with both hands, and the moment he began to lift it over his head, Xiang struck.
Xiang launched the open-faced crescent blade at the man's neck. The man was charging at this point, and his momentum would surely be his demise. Both his his hands gripped the sword as well, meaning that it was over his head and unable to defend against the strike. Gou Tu had charged against a bear, and he had left himself wide open for a strike that would surely end the fight. Guo Tu had everything going against him; momentum carrying him into the attack, the momentum of listing his sword high above his head, and his lack of armor around his neck.
Xiang wondered if there was possibly any way Guo Tu could weasel his way out of this.

Guo's eyes widened for a split second before his neck was cleanly severed by Xiang's blade. Admittedly, he had promised a slaughter, and a slaughter it was. His head rolled down the handle of the polearm before falling to the earth.
Guo Tu has been slain.

Xiang realized what he did, and started to cry.
He had killed the man he loved.
