Almost there...
The iron-clad bandits behind him, Enma rode with his newly recruited men, heading for Lu Jiang. Safety.
For the first time in years, Enma was scared. More scared than he should be. The son of the Jiang Dong barbarian should not be feeling fear...
Enma was ashamed of himself for feeling this emotion. The forbidden emotion for his tribespeople. He shook his head to clear his mind, getting his men to safety was his first priorety, even if he had to hold them off himself. Which probably wasn't an option considering his father needed a competent hier, unlike Zan Ten. He sped up, slamming his heels into his horse's sides. His soldiers followed suit and they sped towards the gates.
"Den sound the alarm!" he shouted to his right-hand man, Den Ju Yun. Den grabbed his warning horn and blew on it in a single, sharp note, signaling that hey needed help, fast. The bandits were gaining on them, only about a mile behind them now. A band of only 300 or so men against an army of 1000. How was it possible to win that fight? Which is why Enma had run from them.
As he reached the gates, the guards stopped him, asking him why he was here,
"I am the son of Sa Ten, Officer of Sun Ce! I come here to escape the army of bandits on my tail! Please let us in!"
Will they get in on time? Let us see...

The guards gasped, "Bandits!", as they turned to the new arrival who identified himself as the son of Sa Ten, "You may enter and fetch reinforcements to keep them at bay, but please hurry!", as they opened the gate.
Giving him and his troops some time to get in, one of the guards took a deep breath then bellowed, "Prepare city defences! Archers on all city walls...Spearmen line up outside this gate to make sure not a single Bandit comes near!". All thye had to do now was to wait for the reinforcements.
