Name: Cao Xiu (Wenlie)
Age: Born in 174 (22 years old)
Gender: Male
Style: Canon
Personality: Cao Xiu is a loyal servant to his master and relative Cao Cao. However, he can use a little flexibility in his interests, although his loyalty will not waver no matter what. He finds joy in being among many beautiful women, and he tends to drink to his full when he feels like it, though he is not an extremely heavy alcoholic. In battle, Wenlie is a valiant warrior who will fight to the death for what he believes is right. He often spends his personal time either socializing with others or practicing with his bow.
Appearance:
Cao Xiu stands at 5'8", somewhat of an average height. He has a young face, properly suitable for his current age in his early twenties. His complexion isn't too pale nor too tanned, though it is more on the whiter side rather than the darker. He has rather narrow eyes compared to most of those nearby him, though his eyebrows are oddly highlighted with the excess bushiness. He keeps a whiskered-moustache and a small goatee, a beard that isn't quite the really manly type, as he prefers to have the rest of his facial hair cleanly shaven and out of the way.
Armour: Cao Xiu dons simple plate armor, composed of only chest and back plates, shoulder plates, and thigh plates. The rest of the body, especially his limbs, are only protected by long sleeved clothing that also acts as an under garment beneath the armor. This gives Wenlie extra maneuverability and agility, along with excess flexibility during movement. A blue cape is draped over his armor and tied to the front, the color symbolizing Cao Cao's army. Cao Xiu also wears a simple helmet upon his head, the only decoration being the scarlet bundle of thread to the rear. Wenlie prefers to polish this helmet cleanly after every battle.
Weapon(s): Spear
Cao Xiu's spear is a very common polearm consisting of a long wooden shaft and a large sharpened tip, which can also be used for slashing, as both edges of the rather flat tip where sharpened as well. Not being a specially designed weapon, it is lighter than other variations of polearms or spears, and Wenlie can easily move it around, attacking with both sides. Its long range also gives it an advantage over shorter weapons such as swords.
The drawback to the spear is that it is not so effective in close quartered combat, as it can get in the way, and the length is hard to maneuver in such situations. As well, it has a small blade compared to a sword, though the length of the shaft makes up for it. And although the spear has its weaknesses, Cao Xiu tends not to equip himself with a secondary weapon, as he believes that it will only slow him down.
History:
Cao Xiu, styled Wenlie, was born as a distant nephew of the warlord Cao Cao. When the Yellow Turban Rebellion broke out in the year 184, Wenlie's father was ruthlessly murdered by the bandits, an innocent victim to the rebels. Bringing his mother with him, Wenlie was forced to move south across the Yangtze in order to move away from the rebel-infested north of China. It was here that Cao Xiu spent some of his childhood days, and it was here that Wenlie had begun to be known as a famous archer. In 190, Cao Cao had been raising an army to join the coalition against the tyrant Dong Zhuo, and Wenlie, at the young age of 16, rushed to join his distant uncle.
Cao Cao was delighted to see Wenlie and described him as the thousand-li horse of his family. He treated Wenlie like a son, and Wenlie loyally followed Cao Cao on many campaigns.
