Damn. That was what you got if you went on any short break off duty. A simple vacation for him and another war had burst already. He had presented himself to Cao Cao a while ago, in fact half a dozen actually, during his own teens. But a few years of service and he departed for a bit of training in the unknowns, and upon dismounting from the mountains, this is what he found. The land in chaos once more, swords at each other's throats and threatening to push the blade further. Well, did it really matter anyway? War would never end, and that was why Cao Xiu was here.
"Looks like a pretty busy place here. Cao Cao seems to be absent from both Chen Liu and Luo Yang."
Wenlie had already passed through Chen Liu with much approval and greeting; after all, it wasn't his first time visiting. But he had felt that he might want to go further, see how much of the land they had conquered, and of course see the rebuilt city of Luoyang. The former Han capital, the last time Wenlie saw it, it was burnt down to ashes. But look now; reconstruction, and hopefully a reestablishment of other political voodoo that should have been important, though Wenlie personally didn't really give about.
Luo Yang it was, at last. Wenlie had already heard from sources back in Chen Liu that Cao Cao's officers only would be tightly guarding the city. Very well, he would patiently await the arrival of his master. Stopping before the gates, he raised his left hand before the guards eagerly opened the doors.
"So who exactly rests in this city?"
The first to greet him, his uncle Cao Hong. The loyal servant of Wei was always welcome as a family member also.
"Greetings, nephew. Good to see you've returned."
