RulesReminded for a good use of English No godmodding No meta-gaming No double posting A sense of realism and reality is required The outcome of the battle can rely on more then one thing. How well you roleplay will also affect the outcome. Reinforcements must be stated and given a realistic time to arrive. Officers or Leaders MUST state what troops they have with them during this battle on their first post. This included sieges weapons. This can be done by officers stating their troops one by one, or the leader taking the role upon him self stating all the troops present of his officers. Your moderator for this battle will be: Emperor Xian Best of luck to both sides.

Tan Zhi Han had set up camp at the north east. A bridge seperated his army from the city gates. Reports came in that Yan Yan and the Nanman were coming in from the south. Han nodded as his scouts reported in with the news.
Han had the orders passed for the army to break camp. Liu Gong would lead one one regiment, Aisin Kuro another, and Han with two. Han looked towards the south as the men formed columns. Han's face was grim. Han looked west now to the city. Men lined the walls... Han looked to the south again and then about faced to his troops."Alright boys, tough and easy, like breaking rations after training. Remember your training and discipline, listen to your sergeants and you'll be fine. Move out."Han began moving south at easy march. He is waiting to see the enemy formations first........................................... Situation/Formation:A Squad (20 men) is comprised of: 1 Cavalry, 2 Spearmen, 2 Swordsmen, 5 Axemen, 5 Bowmen, 5 Crossbowmen 5 Squads make Company (100 men) 5 Companies make a Battalion (500 men) 2 Battalions make a Regiment (1000 men) 2 Regiments make an Army (2000 men) Squad FormationsAll forces will focus on ranged combat, unless enemy enters melee range. In the case of melee combat, crossbowmen and archers will continue firing whenever possible, while melee troops fend off cavalry. Spearmen fend off the horses of cavalry or infantry, swordsmen move up to kill any riders the spearmen knock down or infantry, and all are to maintain positions depending on situations, and the cavalry sergeants are to maintain constant control of their squads, using squad formations as best as they see fit, but always staying within the formation of the whole army. Situations in which Han’s forces do not outnumber the enemy at least 3 to 1 are unfavorable and Han would rather withdraw to maintain ranged combat rather than entering into a slaughter fest. It is preferrable to always keep an enemy at the front of your troops, unless some ploy is being hatched. Sergeants are responsible for their units and must always observe the situation of their fellow units to their immediate left and right. Sergeants wear flags on their backs under the armor, the normal condition flag is the purple flag of Liu Yan’s forces. If they need immediate assistance, they switch from purple to red. If they have spotted something of particular importance or have taken or completed a important target or objective, they will raise a green flag. On a red flag, nearby units will respond in kind and assist in handling the enemy. On a green flag, Aisin Kuro, Liu Gong, or Tan Zhi Han (whoever is closest) will ride to the position and receive the report, determining what the next plan of action is. Sergeants give firing commands; on command “ready,” all melee troops not in combat or in danger of immediate combat, drop to a low stance while still holding their shields to block incoming volleys. At command “aim,” crossbowmen aim. At “fire” crossbowmen fire. At command “reload,” while the crossbowmen reload, melee troops return to normal stance and deflect incoming volleys from themselves and nearby allies, and archers aim, fire, and reload repeatedly until crossbowmen finish reloading. The point of this is to maintain constant and steady fire on the enemy while maintaining efficient defense against the same being reciprocated. FIring targets are based on importance for all ranged units are: -Leaders/Officers - > Grunts -Most threatening - > Fleeing Enemies Troop Count:1000 Shu Axemen 1000 Shu Bowmen 1000 Zhong Crossbowmen 400 Zhong Swordsmen 400 Zhong Spearmen 200 Zhong Cavalry

From the southwestern side of Jian Ning came Demon General Kazi Shimazu, leading the Demon Army of Ba Shu in all its glory. Leading 500 Shu Militia, 1500 Shu Swordsmen, 500 Shu Axemen, and 200 Shu Spearmen was Kazi at the fore-front. He had 5 different units, each one comprised of 300 swordsmen, 100 axemen, and 40 spearmen. All of these men walked, including Kazi. He felt that if his troops could walk, then so could he. If he needed a horse, he would take one from a cavalry member. To his left was Magashi on his muscular black stallion, leading 500 Shu Militia, 2,000 Shu Bowmen, and the siege equipment; 11 Ballistae, 1 Great Trebuchet, and 3 Siege Ramps. The militia carried the disasembled siege equipment and their full stock of ballistae bolts in carts. they were trained in setting up and taking down the equipment quickly, and with relative ease. The ones not pushing carts filled with ballista bolts each carried an individual piece to the siege equipment. They each knew what went where, and how to put it up together as a team. Xiang came behind them, leaving the Demon Cavalry; 1,500 Shu Cavalry, and 100 Shu Scout Cavalry. The 1,600 cavalry riders made up 4 different units of 400 riders. While not built for small battlefields, their stamina was excellent. They excelled at passing charges. Xiang innitially seperated the different units based on horse color; one unit of black horses, one of white, one of brown, and another unit of mixed brown-and-white horses. Xiang, who himself rode a black horse to match his brother's, felt that the men trained better together if each unit had a sense of unity. Once they reached 100 paces from the bank of the river, Magashi raised his hand and all the men stopped. It was at this point that the militia began setting up the artillery. Magashi drew an arrow, and knocked it. He stood silently for a moment, adjusting his aim as he estimated the grade of the land beneath him, the height of the walls, the speed the guard on the wall was walking, the lack of wind, and the message attached to it. He counted to 8, and took a deep breath until 3, let it out at 6, and fired at 8. The arrow soared cleanly through the air, and the arrow soon landed in the guards chest. Magashi smiled smugly. The message the other guards would find read thus: Dear citizens and/or soldiers within these walls. Retreat from this fortress to the city immediately, or every single one of you will die a death none of you have imagined in your wildest nightmares.
Regards, The Demon of Ba Shu Magashi was pleased with their current location. "It looks like that side of the river has a grade that goes all the way to that city. I'm guessing it's something around 5 degrees... we've got height advantage from this place. I'll lower the angle of the ballistae accordingly so it'll rip the wall apart of they don't leave.""Good. Xiang, how're the horses?""Almost perfect.""Magashi, how far are you guessing that fortress is?""Well, it seems like 500 yards, but it's basically 400 for us because of the height differential.""Alright. If they start to leave that fortress, give them one volley of all 2,000 of your troops. If they don't leave, then start volleying at the fortress.""Kazi, do you want us to take the fortress or demolish it?""If they leave, we'll fire 3 volleys into the fortress and them move in. If they don't, we turn it to rubble.""Alright. And I'm assuming you want us to charge them if they try to cross the bridge?""We'll wait and see.""Siege equipment is set up, Kazi.""Good. give them 2 minutes to leave. If not... fire at will."Magashi nodded, and then went to his troops. His 2,000 archers were 10 units of 200 archers, and each unit filled a space between the 11 ballistae, with the great trebuchet sitting ready behind them. "Alright, guys, here's the plan. Fire at full strength, because that'll let you fire all the way into the city. Ballistae, lower your angle of fire by about... I'd say two-and-a-half degrees, and you'll hit the top of the wall. Trebuchet, I want you to alternate your fire between massive boulders and 1 medium sized ones, alright? If I fire at troops leaving the fortress, give them one volley, and then three into the city; artillery, don't bother firing if this happens. If I fire at the fortress, it is our goal to turn it into a pile of rocks. Knock your arrows, we fire in 30 seconds."Kazi and Xiang's troops were assisting with loading the artillery, so that they would be able to fire at a reasonable pace. Xiang sat atop his horse and Xiang stood on the bank of the river, evaluating the situation. They were pleased with it. They could see off in the distance a large mass moving towards what looked like a supply depot... Kazi assumed it was Tan Zhi Han, Liu Yan's new Field Marshal. Kazi didn't care for titles, he was happy being Liu Yan's shadow. "Is this going to be hard?""...No."LIST OF TROOPS: 500 Shu Militia 2000 Shu Bowmen 11 Ballistae, 1 Great Trebuchet, 3 Siege Ramps1500 Shu Swordsmen 500 Shu Axemen 200 Shu Spearmen1500 Shu Cavalry 100 Shu Scout CavalryBASIC ACTIONS - Troops have set up artillery 100 paces from the riverbank
- The artillery/archers have a height advantage on the fortress
- If the soldiers don't evacuate the fortress, they will surely die!

This is going to be Auto-Resolved, but with a different result. You're going to have some losses, but you'll have Jian Ning under your control.
There will be no Troop loses for the Battle had not fully commenced (no contact made). Thus the story shall be that the Council, fearing the combined force of Liu Yan and Nanman, yield to the attackers murdering Fu Shou as surrender.
Seeing as how this was auto-resolved, I will give you guys a consolation reward to go along with the city itself. Each member of this fight (those who have posted) will recieve 500 Gold and 25 Fame.
