Post by Zhao Yun on Jul 10, 2010 21:57:08 GMT
Zhao Yun arrived on the field of battle ready tokill in mass quantities. With him were some of Shu's finest archers, many of who were his men before they joined with Liu Bei. He scanned the area ahead making note of the terrain and areas of opportunity. Immediately after, he ordered his men to advance.
"Prepare to move, men" he exclaimed, raising his spear to the heavens.
"Remember who you fight for! Honor our lord Liu Bei and the allied forces! To victory!"
With Zhao Yun were 5000 soldiers, all with bow and arrows at hand. The entire force would mobilize and move toward the central hill once it was time. Behind their army was a mass of allied soldiers under various commanders. It would be an epic battle.
ORDERS: Move toward the central hill between the mountains. TROOPS: 5000 Shu Bows

Looking straight ahead, the man gazed at the land before them. It was just as they had planned; the maps had made the western skirmish look like child's play. He was sure Guo Jia's strategy would prove to be successful if they all worked as what they were; a group of Allied Forces. Eyes of sapphire scanned the land, analyzing their surroundings with determination. They could not lose; there was no way they could lose this battle. A confident smirk graced his features as he rode the trotting white horse; he just needed to hear six words. "Master Ling Shun Zhi, the special unit has arrived. They have brought what you ordered." The Han Officer turned to look at his side, offering the strategist a smirk. Yes... now they could all proceed with their plan. "Perfect, this will destroy them completely." A soft sigh escaped Shun Zhi's lips as he took one last look at the main camp. It was time to execute the plan. "My men, it is time! We shall punish the traitors to the Han. We shall bring death to Yuan Shao's army!" A combined effort of cavalry, swordsmen, axemen and bowmen cheered as he continued to speak. "It is important that we all succeed in our-" Before he could finish, the man was interrupted by another voice. "Master Ling,"Guo Jia's voice carried a tone of distress, but it was low enough for only Shun Zhi to hear. The latter's eyes narrowed upon hearing the words that followed, turning his smirk into a wide grin. It was time to kill. "You must all succeed in your missions, we cannot afford to lose this battle! For the Han!" Ling Shun Zhi proceeded to advance, hopefully undetected by the enemy forces. The Yuans wouldn't know what hit them. He turned to the strategist once more before giving him a final order. "Master Guo Jia, take the axemen and support Zhao Yun's archers.""Understood, sir." Fengxiao nodded, turning to the troops behind him before galloping away toward the Shu officer. "Axemen, follow me! Let us go and bring death to the traitors!" The man's face remained without expression, his mind concentrating in reaching Zhao Yun as soon as possible. This battle would prove to be difficult... especially since he had fought beside Yuan Shao's men. They knew how he thought and they sure could recognize some of his tactics. However, Guo Jia wouldn't hesitate to strike them down if he had to. Fortunately, Zhao Yun hadn't gone too far and Fengxiao caught up with him quite soon. "Master Zhao Yun, I have come to assist you." The words were spoken with a calm voice, but the tension remained inside him. Fortunately, the battle had just started. ~~~~~~~~~~ - The special unit consisting of 100 Jiang Axemen has arrived and awaits orders at the Allied Main Camp!

It was high time the forces of the Yuan Empire clashed with the bastards of the Blue Dragon. The Han, somehow, it had lived through this. Perhaps Heaven was testing its new leader, the young Emperor Feng, to see if he could prove himself competent enough to rule the middle kingdom? Even if they won here, it would not be the death of the Yuan, nor if they subjugated the Yuan would this be the last uprising. There were some lords loyal to the Han, true it was that they had assembled their fighting forces here, but how long would it last? As soon as the time was ripe, one or more would rise up and start biting the hand that fed them. At least Yuan Shao had the sense to recognize that the Han never fed anyone, they only got fat off the blood, sweat and tears of the people. If this rabble could be turned back, perhaps the people in general would realize that the Blue Dragon was indeed ailing, and soon to die. If not by the hands of the Yuan army, then to internal strife.
Qiong's forces were positioned on the south side of the valley to the northwest, between the woods there and mountain. Being on the defensive side of a conflict always had its perks, familiarity with the land was one, the other being that you could take to the field before your enemy.
In either case, positioning was an important factor, Qiong knew this.
"Gan, I need you to take some men. It's time to enact the plan we had spoken of before marching."
"Yes sir! Alright, you men, on me! We move!"
Huangpo Gan then left the main force with a unit of soldiers, moving for the rally point. It'd be impossible for the enemy to know what was happening until it was too late for them to react. Qiong had the feeling this would be one hell of a battle, hopefully it'd be over quickly.
"Axes, get us some wood! Be quick about it."
With that a 500 axemen began to chop wood from the forested area there. There wasn't a need for a large amount of lumber, so the cutting went by fast. Once the needed amount of wood was gathered, Qiong had some of the cutters go back to the supply train and procure extra supplies. The wood and extra supplies were loaded up on the Scout cavalry's horses. The extra weight wouldn't be enough to slow them at all. Being the fastest cavalry in the land, Qiong was confident they'd be able to do what he asked of them.
He pulled out a map and talked to the unit leaders of the scouts, "Alright, these locations I've marked are where you are to go. The instructions in these letters are what your orders are. Carry them out to the letter. Go, and be as swift as the wind!"
The scouts then rode off for their objectives.
It was time. Qiong had the rest of his forces ready, archers to the front, ready to fire and infantry prepared to adopt battle formations on the fly. Most of these Han officers were green, and he knew it. Hopefully, they wouldn't fight like cornered animals once Qiong began to press them.
Actions: Special units one and two move out to their objectives! (PM sent to mod) Chunyu Qiong orders his troops to the ready.
Troops: 3300 Bei Archers 3000 Bei Cavalry 500 Bei Scout Cavalry 3500 Bei Spears 2500 Bei Axemen 2500 Bei Swordsmen
