Yuan Shao watched as the two men entered, Guan Shao standing at the foot of his throne, reading documents. He kept the two men in view at all times, as he went about preparing the Bene Gessiret for wide circulation.
Yuan smiled and drew both arms up.
"Welcome! You must be Vilakazi, the man I had my friend Guan Shao send for. I am glad you are both enjoying your time so far in Ye.
I have come to entreat you. I want you to take a break from the hardships of the day, and relax. Then we will discuss business."

"Thank you, lord Yuan Shao. It is much appreciated."
Kazi smiled gratefully, and Magashi fist-pumped like a champ.
"What all do you guys do in Ye for fun? I've never been in this region before."
Kazi sighed as Magashi's informal nature embarrassed him once more.
"It truly is a beautiful city, lord Yuan Shao. Now, rumors have spread throughout the land that rather than the Yuan Kingdom, it is now the Yuan Empire. Are these rumors true? Is Yuan Shao the next great Emperor of China?"

Guan Shao's eyes narrowed, the Bene Gessiret Head of Security taking an unconscious step forwards, his hand holding his spear. His face was placid, but his eyes watched the new comers intently.
Yuan Shao, however, still high on opium lifted the pipe and hurled it towards the man.
"Have a hit of this, Magashi. You'll be fucked right quick."
He let out a hearty laugh before turning back towards Vilakazi.
"Indeed. I am indeed Emperor Jianyuan of the Yuan Empire. The first. And rightfully so. Tell me I am wrong to call myself this in this nation of upstarts."

Magashi caught the pipe, and took a deep inhale, smelling the product within the pipe.
"Dude, opium. Thanks, bro."
Magashi took continuous hits while Kazi ignored his drugged-up, alcoholic brother. Kazi continued to converse with Yuan Shao, still uncertain of why he had been invited here.
"No, I think you have every right to declare yourself Emperor of this war-torn, disbanded nation. You've the officers, man=power, and loyalty to do so; who would want to stop you? If you are the one able to bring unification to thw country of China, I welcome it, to be honest."
At this point, Kazi still had to feel out the situation. He didn't want to get into any sort of argument about who should rightfully rule the kingdom, and yet... well, Yuan Shao did seemed determined to bring an end to the chaos. It was something Kazi could admire.
Magasih was sitting on the floor, and seemed to have smoked all that was left in the fairly large pipe.
"Dude, is it cool if I scooby-snack this shit?"
""Lord Yuan Shao, rumors also tell me you have defeated Gongsun Zan. Is this also true?"
"Dude... I can feel your words."

Shao nodded his head, Guan Shao's eyes narrowing. He was sizing up Vilakazi, making sure that the man was not attempting to hurt his lord in any way.
"Indeed. My son Yuan Tan defeated him in battle, and unfortunately the maniac killed himself, his wife, and his son. His Ivory tower is being demolished to help rebuild the city."

"A commendable use of the tyrant's tower."
Kazi didn't bother mentioning anything about the family, because Kazi didn't rightfully care about them. From what he had heard back in Ba Shu, the father was despicable, the mother was probably just as bad, and the son would have been as insane, if not more, than his father. Kazi wasn't sure about Yuan Shao's true feelings on that subject, so he decided not to make a comment about his lack of respect and empathy for the human race.
Out of Kazi's peripheral vision, Kazi could see Guan Shao, whom Kazi didn't know the name of yet, standing slightly stiffer than one would if they were standing at ease, and his eyes seemed narrower than usual. The man was either still unsure of Kazi's intentions in this throne room, the man was ready to pounce on Kazi at any given moment, or perhaps Kazi was guilty by association, and the man disliked Kazi because of Magashi's crude nature. Kazi didn't care, since the man was still in Kazi's line of sight.
"Lord... excuse me. Emperor Yuan Shao, on my way here to Ye I travelled... well, I suppose you could say "invited" my way through Chen Liu, and Cao Cao's kingdom seems to possess a certain amount of... 'anxiety' towards the current state of affairs. One might think that Cao Cao and his people are torn between two different paths."
During this time, Magashi was tripping so hard on Opium he couldn't even stand. He simply layed down on the ground, muttering to himself.
"Dude, I can't even look at anything right now... it's like my whole body is having a super intense orgasm. I'm so shit-faced right now."

Yuan Shao stood at this comment, Guan Shao springing into further attention as well. Administrators around the palace bowed to Shao before continuing on their work.
Shao descended, picking up the opium pipe and drawing from it. A seasoned veteran of the drug, it barely affected him now-a-days, his years summing up in this final gambit, attempting to create the dynasty that he had alwasy seen himself the head of.
He thought over his guest's statement. If Cao Cao's lands were in turmoil, that could only mean one thing; his bid for empire had succeeded.
"What happens in Cao Cao's lands is Cao Cao's business. He sends spies and miscreants into my territory to mess with my people. I have doubled patrols and increased as much police presence as I dare, lest my people think I run some sort of tyrannical dictatorship.
Which I do, but at least I hide it well."

Post by Chunyu Qiong on Jun 24, 2010 23:32:44 GMT
Chunyu Qiong's forces approached the gates of Ye, the yellow Yuan banners blowing in the wind. Things had certainly changed a lot since he had left. For one, the lay out of the walls was different, and for two, it looked like security and trade had increased considerably.
Qiong knew of his liege's declaration and his new office in the budding empire, but he didn't expect things to explode, as it were, so quickly. As he approached the guards, they made to question him, he stated his identity plainly, knowing that it'd be pretty impossible for them to mistake his person.
"Chunyu Qiong, Regent Marshal to the Emperor Jianyuan! My troops are returning from Xiang Ping, I need to report to the Emperor that the prefect yielded the city without bloodshed. This man is my colonel, Huangpo Gan."
The guards nodded, like Qiong thought, it'd be pretty impossible to fake something like this. Still though, he could appreciate the guards doing their duty. As the gates opened Qiong bid his men to enter. Huangpo Gan sat on horse nearby, "Sir, what would you have me do? I don't presume it takes the two of us to report to the liege." Qiong smiled in reply, it seemed the academy had done good on the young man before him. He turned to enter the city alongside his troops, whom were about half way into the city now, the units of axes and the catapults being brought into the city at that particular moment threw salutes to the general.
"Certainly not colonel," Qiong said, pausing to return a salute, "I will go to our lord, and you will take the men to the barracks. They get a few days leave. They should be able to return to duty easily once it is over, not having to fight for Xiang Ping was a godsend. Hop to it colonel, show me how you marshal troops with your fancy new academy skills!" Huangpo Gan nodded and immediately took control, leaving Qiong free to ride to the palace, as he trotted off in the opposite direction he could hear Gan, "Alright men, double time it to the barracks! The general just gave us a few days leave, so the sooner we get there, the sooner we can relax!"
Qiong arrived at the foot of the palace, guards coming up to greet him. It seemed these men had not been rotated since Qiong left. It was good to see familiar faces though. He dismounted and entrusted his horses and weapons to them, knowing all were in good hands. He then ascended the stairs to the palace, which were a bit more in number than he remembered. The guards blocked him entry at first, but once Qiong flashed his rank they opened the doors. He strode into the throne room, expecting to behold the new emperor looking regal on his throne. Instead, he saw a group of men, one high and in spasms, the other speaking with the emperor, the next a man that stood off to the side, eying them all like a hawk, and finally the liege himself.
"My emperor! Regent Marshal Chunyu Qiong," he wondered how many times he'd say that today, he said as he bowed, "would like to report that Xiangping has surrendered to the empire, and without incident too!"

Its time to get back to business! Yan Liang has been helping take over the northern lands and now that they are under the control of the Yuan Shao Empire, Liang would like to get started on his original plans. Its been a while and working on those damn papers to keep the empire stable and informed is most boring. Now, will be the time to truly start things off, and it will start off the way they started the war against Gongsun Zan, weak little fag.
The Imperial General walks fast to the throne room, escorting him is a group of ten men, his best. Navigating through the long hallways, his men were in step with him, a march through the palace it sounded like, as if war was going to be upon them in a heartbeat. The sparkling floor, artistic wall, and such beautiful women to match it all with. General Yan Liang burst through the door, no sign of respect what so ever.
"About time you got here brother Chunyu Qiong! Been waiting for your return for some time. Get those bandit banners that we took a while ago and get your men ready for our original plans! We shall set out in two days. So have your men rest up, your gear ready, proper food and water, and anything else you think you might need. My men are leaving tomorrow morning to get a head start."
Outside the palace, Ryou Kin was getting the men ready to leave in the morning. Checking for their gear to make sure they were ready to go. Setting up the food and water so they just got to pack it and head out. Ryou know how to lead these attacks, a pro at it really. He will have a hard time getting out but he will, thats what real bandits are known for any how. Kin will use his personal bandit banners for his men.
"Make sure you guys get enough rest tonight, horses are well feed and hydrated."

Qiong nodded as Yan Liang entered the hall. He decided to leave a scroll he had written on the way back to Ye detailing Xiang Ping's surrender with an attendant for Yuan Shao to read at a later date. In it, everything necessary for his liege's information was present.
"Right! I'll have my colonel take care of this one."
He left the palace, heading for the barracks. Huangpo Gan and the other men had been resting as per their general's orders. The majority of the men were on leave, those that had been marching with them since the battle in the Heishan anyway. The fresh troops from Nan Pi were ready to go at a moment's notice, having been spared a fight for Xiang Ping. Qiong informed some men to gather the bandit banners they had taken and distribute them across a unit of 500 men. The rest of the banners were given to Yan Liang to distribute to his men as needed.
Huangpo Gan stood ready for his general's orders, "Sir!"
Qiong told him of their plans, "Muster a unit to engage in raiding throughout the prefecture of Luo Yang. Cao Cao's infrastructure must be weakened before our army marches southwards. Merchant caravans and farms, those are the primary targets. If enemy patrols spot you, wipe them out, but leave some alive to tell of a bandit force marauding through the lands," he said, motioning to the banners.
Huangpo Gan saluted and set out to mustering the unit. They would leave in two days time.

Kazi chuckled softly under his breath. Either Yuan was joking, or this man was as devious as Kazi had heard. Magashi was useless as this point; sprawled out on the ground, petting the expensive carpet like it was a furry wall.
"Emperor Yuan Shao, again, if I may be so bold... why is it exactly that one of your stature wanted to see someone who has a reputation of being... well, a shady character? Surely not to discuss the frivalties of everyday life."

Shao looked the man over. A crimson hue seemed to hug the man at all times, even in the regal gold that Shao's hall was bathed in. Everything seemed chipper in this place, except for the spot where Kazi hung, and the inebriated Magashi on the floor.
"At it's most basic, yes.
But really I called for you to extend an invitation. At any point, if that tyrant Liu Yan seems too over bearing, my invitation is always open. I would cherish your joining today, but know that this may not be the best time.
Your thoughts?

Kazi was taken aback, but he remained composed as usual... on the outside, anyway. Was Yuan Shao openly inviting Kazi to defect? Kazi may be a cold-blooded killer with a Noteriety rating of 0, but he wouldn't openly defect from the man that gave him a home.
"Emperor Yuan Shao, as honored as I am that a ruler such as yourself wishes to recruit me, I am... sad to say that I can not accept your offer at this time. I would personally hardly call Liu Yan a tyrant; he gave my brothers and I a home when we needed one, and I will always respect and honor his name for that. However, if for some reason he ends up not being the man I believe him to be, I will keep your offer in mind."
