The palace to the city of Ye is located in the central plaza of the cities perimeter. Here you can request for an audience with the current prefect. The palace consists of a throne room, a kitchen, an open audience chamber, a council area and an upper landing where rest rooms are located.

"I bet you can almost guess the reason why I am here today."
The city of Ye....Huai now understands why friends of his who have been here never do a good job explaining there trip. Because it's indescribable. The culture and energy instilled in the city is admired upon.
"Is the great Lord Yuan Shao available to see some lowly being he has never met before, or will I be sent to meet some official instead?"

A nice old adviser showed Guo Huai inot the palace. Shao sat atop the throne that was his and welcomed the newcomer. Guan Shao sat at the foot of the throne, inbetween Yuan and the newcomer.
"Wecome to my humble palace! How may I help you today?"

"Well, I actually have a pretty unreasonable request...I wish to share a few words with Yuan Shao. My name is Guo Huai from Wan."
His eyes began to scan around the palace. Huai has worked for some local tribes before, though their 'palaces' are nothing compared to these.
"I am sure many has praised the palace for its beauty. But the amount of sweat and blood that has gone into its construction....is it really worth it?"
Yes, he knows that Yuan Shao comes from a very powerful family. His family has held crucial titles in the Han court, and Shao is bound to follow in their footsteps. Therefore, there is a certain image he must retain. However, there are many, many out there who can't even afford to eat...But again, there are other lords out there that are even more...needy let's say.
"Or does Yuan Shu own an even better looking palace that required even more blood and sweat?" he chuckled.

Shao laughed, obviously somewhat intoxicated on something, that something being opium, and walked down the throne. Guan Shao stood and walked forward ahead of his lord, a constant protector of the man and his senility.
Shao came forward and looked intently at the newcomer. Interesting.
"Well, I am indeed Yuan Shao, and I dare say my cousin needs no new help in his current state, thinking himself emperor!
My palace was built by my own hands, and is a testament to the will and people of Ye. It was built with them in mind, as you can see that I employ peasantry for everything.
But for what reason, besides having a few words, that you are visiting my opulence?"

Huai stopped to figure out the best possible response here. He is speaking with the most powerful man in the entire region. Any step in the wrong direction may get him killed...Though Huai doesn't want to behave like the average person, because he is not one of them. He cannot leave an impression unless he displays uniqueness.
"I am on a quest to find a regional lord that will maximize my potential, to become an officer feared for his leadership and intelligence. Yes, you heard me right, not necessarily through might. In fact, those two will be even more powerful than might alone."
Huai knows his net worth should he choose Shao as his master. Having the likes of Yan Liang and Wen Chou amongst the ranks already, this is his only way to differentiate himself as a 'mighty' officer,
"I am here, representing the mass, to see what kind of a leader Yuan shao is."
"I am here, simply put, to see what's under the mask."

Yuan Shao smiled at Guo Huai. The man thought that he was worthy of being the judge for Shao? Interesting. It took a certain testicular fortitude to consider yourself important enough to judge the future emperor of China.
"I wear no mask, Guo Huai. I am the most honest man in China."

An honest man...Huai has heard of the same statement many, many times over the years. How many of them were lies? He lost count already....anywho, he returned a smile to Shao to show his appreciation.
"Very well, honest man. Now if you will answer this with nothing but the truth for me. How will you clean up this mess in China? Force? Betrayal? Sabotages? What is the most effective way above all? Or in fact, what makes you stand above all, despite competition?"
Huai know he has asked a lot of questions. Heck, he should be glad that Yuan Shao has yet to order the guards to drag him out of the palace. Though until that happens, he will not stop firing question after question...just yet...
"I will apologize for my rudeness beforehand, lord Yuan Shao. That is just who I am. I will probably not make the best diplomat with my bluntness, though that makes me a trustworthy officer."

Shao laughed as he asked the question that every upstart did; how will you change this? How will you finish what your forefathers started. How will you be different.
"I intend to be emperor. That's a pretty decisive answer to your questions."

"Emperor Yuan Shao...there's a nice ring to that. You may have a family history of being loyal servants to the Han, but you chose otherwise. And for that, I admire your guts. You will have a major target on your back now."
Huai then closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again, muttering a few words to himself in the process.
"Who has the upper hand, you or Cao Cao plus Lu Bu? Though I am question the strength of that alliance. I am sure you feel the same. If they have a common enemy, then they may align. Otherwise, they will be after one another. That will be the perfect opportunity for your honour to strike."

"That is why I have no intent on making the first move against them. I will be emperor though, and that is all that matters. It is my destiny. I am no longer complacent serving a dying breed of imperial retainers who abuse the emperor's place for their own good. I will no longer follow a maxim that requires the emperor to have a protector; I will be both Emperor, and General."

The Emperor is being used as a tool by many. As soon as he loses his value, he will be worth nothing more than dirt. It is anybody's game now, and perhaps betraying the Han now rather than later is a good choice....or is it? What should Huai do? He has been taught to be a loyal servant to the Han since childhood, but he felt strongly that the man in front of him will be one granting him fame and wealth.
Though if you think about it, rather than aiding the so called 'legitimate force', but further prolonging the chaotic times, wouldn't it be smarter to serve the strongest liege and help him unite China as soon as possible? That is probably the most efficient and effective way to minimize unnecessary casualties.
"Lord Yuan Shao...or I should say Your Majesty...I have decided."
Huai slowly got down on one knee and stared into Shao.
"My specialty as a general lies not in my brawn, but my brain. I will see through enemies' schemes and plots with an eagle eye. I want to stop the questioning, and start working for you instead."
He then smirked towards his to-be-liege.
"I wish to invest my future and life in your hands, and swear to be your loyal officer. The road to conquering China will be treacherous, but with the talent pool here, the day where the Yuan family controls China will arrive very soon. Please allow me to participate in accelerating the arrival of it."
"I will destroy those in our way. I will send them to where they belong - the graveyards. I will kill whomever you want me to kill."

"It is indeed good to see that you have a real expectation of the future. Siding with the Yuan is the only smart idea left in China.
Welcome to the Yuan Empire. You shall be regarded as a friend forever."
Guo Huai has joined the Yuan!

Kazi had no idea what the esteemed Yuan Shao wished to speak with him, of all people. Being as it may, Kazi did not trust himself entering the Yuan Shao kingdom by himself; for all he knew, Yuan Shao wanted to kill him. Kazi decided it would be best to bring Magashi with him. Not only would it provide him an extra set of eyes to look over his shoulder, but Kazi would also have the ability to keep Magashi some-what sober.
They arrived at the city of Ye, and before Kazi had the chance to introduce them, Magashi spoke.
"Kazi and Magashi Shimazu, at your service. We've got diplomatic immunity in this city, so you can just let us through."
The guards obviously knew what Magashi was talking about, and they let the men in without much resistance. Magashi and Kazi then proceeded to ride to the palace.
"What was that about?"
"We've got diplomatic immunity in this place, dude."
"Really? Yuan Shao granted us diplomatic immunity in the city of Ye?"
"Yeah, dude. I could, like, take a piss on a baby's face and they wouldn't do anything. Diplomatic Immunity, bro."
"Magashi, this is hardly the time for-"
"Just think about it, dude. We could spit on a small child, and they wouldn't do anything."
"Magashi-"
"WE CAN SEX UP THE WOMEN WITH OUR THROBBING MEAT TRUNCHEONS FREE OF RAMMIFICATION.
Their back and forth continued until they reached the palace. Again, Magashi was the first to speak.
"Diplomatic Immunity, bro. Get out the way."
The guards, apparently complying with Yuan Shao's wishes, let the men in without confinscating any of Kazi's throwing knives, or Magashi's bow. Not that the two had any idea of using them, of course. It was nice to know that diplomatic immunity was hella-fuck-balls-to-the-walls awesome.
They were escorted to the throne-room and them approached Yuan Shao until they were 20 paces away. Both Magashi and Kazi bowed respectfully to Yuan Shao.
"Dude, diplomatic immunity is the best thing to happen to me since I realized my dick was bigger than most other guys."
"Please excuse my colleague, esteemed Yuan Shao, and disregard any comments he makes; he hasn't had any alcohol in quite some time, and he's become edgy. It is an honor to be in the presence of such a respected ruler."
